GAME-ER: A Benchmark for European Gaming Research

Delegates from Inova+ and Abertay University actively participated in this dedicated event for gaming projects, championed by the European Project Officer.

 

A highlight of the day was the strong positive reception of the GAME-ER project. Its innovative and ambitious scope, coupled with its groundbreaking research initiatives, truly resonated with attendees. This included key Project Officers and influential policymakers from DG Connect, who expressed significant interest in GAME-ER’s contributions to the sector.

The workshop’s comprehensive agenda provided a robust platform for knowledge exchange and strategic planning. Participants benefited from insightful presentations detailing the current landscape of the European video games sector.  A crucial element of the day involved dedicated group work, where experts delved into vital topics such as:

  • Gaming Ecosystems: Exploring the interconnected elements that drive the industry.
  • Gaming in Museums: Discussing innovative ways games can enhance cultural heritage experiences.
  • AI in Gaming: Examining the transformative potential of artificial intelligence.
  • Gaming for Learning: Unlocking new pedagogical approaches through interactive experiences.

This collaborative experience was unequivocally a success, creating a fertile ground for future cooperation. The connections made and ideas exchanged are expected to blossom into numerous potential collaborations, further strengthening the European gaming research community and paving the way for exciting advancements.
