GameIN Fundão: Talent and Innovation in Videogames
Following the inauguration, the GAME-ER partner hosted the GameIN Fundão session. This event served as a showcase of the talent emerging from our academic partners and highlighted the collaborative spirit of the region.
The session featured a diverse lineup of activities designed to bridge the gap between theory, practice, and community:
INOVA+, the coordinator of GAME-ER,initiated the session by presenting the framework of the GAME-ER project, sharing the first crucial insights gathered from recent interviews.
Students from the University of Beira Interior (UBI) took the stage to pitch innovative game concepts. These ranged from therapeutic games and environmental awareness projects to creative interactive platforms and titles exploring social impact themes.
Tech Demonstrations (IPCB): The Master’s in Informatics program at IPCB showcased practical applications of their research, demonstrating AI solutions focused on health, active ageing, and general well-being.
Participants engaged in a hands-on activity to map the actors and competencies within our emerging ecosystem, helping to visualize the network of talent in Fundão.
The day concluded with a networking moment where attendees could test the showcased games and interact directly with the creators.
The activities did more than just display talent; they reinforced the strong link between the municipality’s Game IN Fundão strategy and the GAME-ER project. The event successfully demonstrated how GAME-ER has played a key role in shaping this new approach to talent attraction, innovation, and videogame development in Fundão.
